X4000 console changes
Since the beginning I got this kit, I was not pleased with the use of yellow knobs and trim potentiometers.
Also, the lack of an ON/OFF switch made me start thinking
Why not using real potentiometes and one of them with an ON/OFF switch ?
So this is what I came up with : Omit all 2 trimmers and use Japanese small potentiometers. One of them has a switch.
On the second console, I would like to use a rotary switch.
All of them have stylish black knobs.
The quality of control is much better and hey, you don't have to disconnect the wires for the power
What do you think guys ?

Hallo Frank,
Wolfgang

Frankje,
can you tell us anything about part number or manufacturer of the turning knobs you put on the potentiometers? They look really good, but I can't find them at the usual German electronics parts stores.
Regards,
Florian

Re: X4000 console changes
Hallo Florian,
The knobs I found at my local electronic parts supplier, but doesn't Conrad have these ?
The pot meters I got from my electronic parts store and The pot meter with switch came out of the Conrad retro radio AM.
I will try to look on Conrad for the knobs.
Greetings

Re: X4000 console knobs
The knobs can be found at Conrad and the brand is SCI.
The small knob has number 1304023 and the larger has number 1304023.
The pot meter with switch used has a small mounting shaft, so its nut is completely invisible underneath the knob.
